This is not a complete list. It is a representative one. What these cases share is not subject matter -they range from the high seas to the football field to the federal courthouse. What they share is this: when the outcome mattered, Grady Irvin was at the table.

The Cases That Defined a Career

Grady C. Irvin Jr. Tampa criminal defense attorney

United States v. Nikisin, et al
Sixteen Lithuanian and Ukrainian seamen stood accused of smuggling nearly four tons of cocaine along the Venezuelan coastline aboard a freighter bound for Europe. The government's case was international in scope. The acquittal was complete.

United States v. Daniels, et al.
A Colorado-based rap artist is acquitted at trial following his indictment in a multi-defendant national drug trafficking conspiracy that involved allegations of, among other things, kilogram shipments of narcotics, money laundering, and the use and discharge of firearms.

United States v. Gaddy, et al.
The accused proceeded to trial while charged with causing the fentanyl overdose death of two individuals, and the serious bodily injury of two others. The accused was acquitted of the death and serious bodily injury charges, and convicted of the lesser charges of conspiracy to possess and distribute a controlled substance.

State of Florida v. McPherson
A Florida State University quarterback accused of gambling on football games. A case that landed in the newspapers and required a lawyer who could handle both the courtroom and the court of public opinion.

United States v. Allowitz
A federal murder-for-hire case in which a wife was accused of engaging an undercover federal agent to kill her husband. One of the most emotionally charged case types in the federal system. Irvin served as lead trial counsel.

State of Florida v. Lyons

A state criminal racketeering trial involving the alleged leader of the nation's largest predominantly Black religious organization. High stakes. High profile. High pressure.

State of Florida v. Buckley
A criminal trial in which the defendant was alleged to be the head of a white supremacist group accused of terrorizing a county resident. A case that asked difficult questions about the limits of ideology and the obligations of the law.

United States v. Wilson
A federal criminal case alleging firearms possession and distribution of crystallized methamphetamine by an alleged white supremacist. Another case where Grady Irvin brought the same standard to a client others might have declined.

U.S. v. Puerto-Ortiz, et al.
Honduran fishermen and semi-professional soccer players, charged with smuggling in excess of 2,000 kilograms of cocaine in the Eastern Pacific Ocean. Acquitted.

And Beyond
Grady Irvin is very proud of the results obtained for clients, but you should know that past results do not guarantee future results; that every case is different and must be judged on its own merits; and that the choice of a lawyer is an important decision and should not be based solely upon websites, social media, advertisements, or the like.
